Past recipients of OCTE Excellence Award

Beth Camp, veteran literature and writing teacher at Linn-Benton Community College, Albany, has won the 2003 Oregon Excellence Award for Teaching English Language Arts. Sponsored by the Oregon Council of Teachers of English (OCTE), the annual statewide award presented October 4 recognizes one of Oregon’s outstanding English teachers K-16. Begun in October 2000, the program invites all Oregon teachers to nominate peers who meet two criteria: (1) at least five years of teaching at any level in any Oregon school, and (2) a particularly noteworthy record in teaching English language arts.
